This old house

Here is our version of this old house. I decided to remove the strips on the wall so I could paint, something I have wanted to do for some time. I started in the laundry room in case I make mistakes, which I will. Here is what the laundry room looks like before.

I have taken the strips off in this picture.

Here is what it looks like with the second coat of mud. We have to put 3 coats on before we get to prime and then paint.

Here is what our living room is looking like.

I got  some mud that goes on pink and dries white when ready to sand. This is just the 1st coat in the living room. I feel like I am building a house. I made a decision this afternoon that I am not going to be doing this to any of the other rooms. RJ is trying to help me with the walls but it is hard for him because he sprain his ankle and I am trying to keep him off of his feet. I am just going to prime and paint the rest of the trailer. If I didn't, we wouldn't have our furniture for quite a while. After the paint, we are getting new carpet. This way while the mud dries, I can be priming the rest of the walls. We will see how this will go. I would much rather be out in the yard planting flowers. But that is for another blog  when I get to it.

We have a new address!

We can't believe it. They moved us this morning. Our new address is 4420 SW 61st Street, Lot # 107, Topeka, Kansas, 66619. We hope to spend the night there tonight. Here are a few pictures that we took.

Here they are pulling the trailer from where it was. Kinda scary to watch.

Here it is making the first turn. Had to back it up to make it around the corner.

Here we are heading out of Holton. There was no road work here when came down. Afterward we find out that he is not allowed to move something this big through a work zone. He could have gotten fined. But he agreed that it wasn't there earlier this morning.

Here is a video of the turn off 61st street into the trailer park. Press play to see. Had to stop traffic for this.

Here is the final stop. This trailer will never be moved by us again. It is now home. Sorry for the date and time being wrong on the pictures. I am good at doing that. We are blogging at McDonald's due to no internet yet. Now the fun begins.

Greetings from Limbo

That is how RJ and I are feeling right now. We are staying in hotels through priceline. It would be more fun if we had more of our clothes with us. It is like living out of your car. When what we have gets dirty, it is time to go to the laundromat. If we had our swimsuits, we could go swimming or the hot tub but they are packed somewhere in the storage unit. The hotel where we are does not even have a refrigerator or microwave, does have a coffee pot.  We can get a free breakfast if we get up between 6am and 9am. This morning RJ and I had breakfast before I went to work. Since we were moving stuff Wednesday when it was raining off and on, RJ now has a cough. Told him to take it easy for a few days and drink plenty of liquids.

Here is a view of the trailer on it's own wheels. RJ was surprised they they use regular tires, 10 to be exact in the rear.

Here they are with the shed. They moved it on Tuesday and got the trailer ready to be moved. Unfortunately the weather has not cooperated.

Here is RJ standing by the shed on our lot. He was amazed at how well the move went. We still have to get it level.

Even though the weather has not been good, their is a bright side to everything. The flowers were blooming in our ditch on the farm. Hopefully our next blog will be from a new address.
