Being Loved

With everything going on in your life, it is good to feel loved. No matter how bad it may seem, I am happy and feeling loved. It is a wonderful feeling that I want to share. Consider yourself loved.

SNOWING! chapter 2

We are having a winter wonderland this year. We had at least 6 more inches of snow yesterday on top of the snow that had not melted from the last snowfall. Here is the view from our living room window.

It looks like the other pictures that I took last week.

At least the snow plow has been by this morning but we will still have to dig a path to the road from our carport.

The snow looks nice if you don't have to get out in it. The good news is that it is a powdery snow, easier to shovel. The bad news is that you can't build a snowman with this.

indoor camping

You take for granted things that you use everyday until you don't have it. That is what we are dealing with right now with our plumbing. It affects the toilets, showers, sinks, washer, anything that has to do with water. As soon as the snow melts and the ground thaws RJ wants to get out in the yard and try to dig where he thinks the problem is located. I pray for warm weather soon. We may be down to eating finger foods so we don't mess up our dishes. This is roughing it with heat and electricity, as close to camping I am willing to get!

SNOWING!

Kids would say this is a snow day, a day to have fun. Well, it makes us snowbound. We have had about 6 - 8 inches so far and it is still snowing. The snow plow has not been by yet so we are not going anywhere. It would be great if we were not having plumbing problems. Here are a few pictures from our front window.

You really can't see the snow falling in this shot but it is falling straight down.

Here is a snow picture of the deck and RJ's truck. Need to enjoy the beauty today for tomorrow the wind may be blowing and we will have a blizzard with the powdery snow.

Day before Jennifer's birthday

I came to Wichita today to celebrate Jennifer's birthday. It is to snow the next couple of days and won't be able to be here. We had a super day, going out to eat and shopping. Here are a few of the pictures that I took.

Here is Jennifer where we ate supper, at Il Vicino. It was great and they gave her a free dessert, which she shared with me. Hard to believe she will be 32 tomorrow.

This is what we found when we got home. Her Dad did this before he went to work. It brought tears to our eyes.

Here is a picture of the two of us, what a pair!

Here is the gift that Grandma, RJ and I got Jennifer for her birthday, a new ipod shuffle. It is hard to tell in the picture but it is an apple green, green being her favorite color. All in all I think she had a good birthday even though it is not her birthday yet. Wonder what she will do tomorrow when she gets off work.

Happy New Year

We celebrate our Christmas on New Years Day because we have to get to together for our traditional meal. We might have Thanksgiving on a different day but are always together on New Years Day. We went to my Mom's in Topeka. Jennifer came from Wichita and Tom was there. We had ham, black-eyed peas (for luck), turnip greens (for money), cornbread, rice (for fertility, like we need this), pickled beets and her pink "fluff". This is our meal. It was so good, with leftovers for everyone. Then we exchanged Christmas gifts. I think we were very good this year. What do you think?  Here are the pictures from the day.

Here is Mom with the first of the gift cards that she got. She seems to like those.

Here is RJ with the first of many gift cards. I am sure that he will take me along with him.

Here I am with the start of my gifts. This one is from Jennifer. Replacement for the gown I left in a hotel room on our trip.  Thanks Jen.

Here is Tom opening his gifts. He got a restaurant gift card, bread and dipping oil.

Guess what Jennifer got? A KINDLE! She is such a bookworm that we thought she would enjoy something like this.

Here are my gifts from Boston. The shirt fits great and I love the Boston Baked Beans. Thank Allison, Owen, Jake and Carrie.

Here is 3 generations, Mom, Jennifer and me. Sure missed Carrie this year. Will catch her next year and get another picture. Till then will continue to blog.
